Cao Son Market (Vietnam) is a small, highly authentic ethnic minority market located in Cao Son Commune, Muong Khuong District, Lao Cai Province. Surrounded by majestic pine forests, tea hills, and lush river valleys, this vibrant trading post remains largely untouched, preserving the rustic lifestyle and traditions of northwest Vietnam's highland communities.
As cultural hub, It serves as a vital social and economic gathering space for the Flower H'mong, Phu La, Dao (Dzao), Tay, and Nung ethnic groups. Locals travel from distant villages—often walking with horses, riding motorbikes, or traveling in groups—to trade goods, catch up with friends, and enjoy local food.
The market is a visual spectacle of color. Women from different hill tribes attend dressed in their finest, intricately embroidered traditional costumes, distinct patterns, and silver jewelry.
